Zion Rest Missionary Baptist Church

Church · Baptist

Zion Rest Missionary Baptist Church is a historically Black congregation on Paisano Trail in south Austin, Texas, and a member of the St. John Regular Baptist Association. It was organized in 1903 in the Kincheonville community, a settlement named for one of its early ministers, on land donated by three local men, and an early building served as both school and fellowship hall. A cornerstone was laid for a new sanctuary in 1965, a fellowship hall was completed in 1978, and a further sanctuary was completed in 1988. Its published essential beliefs affirm the deity of Christ and the virgin birth, the bodily resurrection, the substitutionary atonement, the inerrancy of the Scriptures, and the literal second coming of Christ.
