St. James' Episcopal Church is a congregation of the Episcopal Diocese of Texas in East Austin, founded in 1941 by African American residents, mostly faculty and students of Tillotson College, and still rooted in that heritage. It describes itself as an inclusive, multicultural, multilingual community, worshiping in English and Spanish, including the Sunday Misa en espanol of its Iglesia de Santiago.
