New Zion Baptist Church
Church · Baptist
New Zion Baptist Church is a historically African American Baptist congregation on South Mitchell Street in San Marcos, Texas, founded in 1866 as Colored Baptist Church Zion in the years just after emancipation. It describes its mission as reaching, restoring, and releasing God's people back into the world, and gathers for two Sunday morning services alongside midweek Bible study and corporate prayer. Its statement of belief affirms the Trinity, the full atonement accomplished in Christ's death and resurrection, and Scripture as truth without any mixture of error.
