Grace Lutheran Church is a congregation of the Texas District of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod in Elgin, organized in 1951. Its roots are in preaching services begun at McDade in 1945 for Lutheran servicemen stationed at nearby Camp Swift; the congregation resolved in 1956 to move to Elgin and built its own church on Eleventh Street from 1965. A new sanctuary containing stained glass windows was completed and dedicated in June 2002.
