Bethel Primitive Baptist Church is an Old School Primitive Baptist congregation on FM 713 outside Lockhart, organized in 1852, with a Texas Historical Marker placed at the site in 1987. Its Articles of Faith, adopted from the Providence Association of Baptists in 1852, affirm one only true and living God revealed as Father, Son and Holy Ghost, salvation wholly by grace through the election and effectual calling of God, the Old and New Testaments as the only infallible rule of faith and practice, the King James translation as God's providential preservation of Scripture for English speakers, and baptism by immersion for believers only. Worship is a cappella and services are held the first through fourth Sundays of each month, with a Saturday service before the third Sunday.
